SmartVM-UK has added DVI Fibre Optic Extender and HDMI fibre optic extender to its popular line of video extenders.

Cleveland, (Ohio) January 28th, 2011: Transmission of video can now be extended over a distance between the source and display devices using the Video Extender. Comprising of local and remote units with the two connected to each other using Category 5/5e/6 cables, they eliminate the need for bulky VGA cables. The most common category of extenders is the VGA device that relays VGA signals with resolutions up to 1900 x 1200. Supporting plug and play functionality, these devices are easy to install and provide equalization and video signal gain adjustment. The Cat5 extenders have distance limit of approximately 1000ft. For greater distance needs, fibre optic extenders can be used. With the use of fiber optic cables, the distance of transmission can be increased to 3300 feet.
