Solarsis Solves Power Outages Problems
Rural Schools, Orphanage, Destitute Home & Age Old Homes Beat Power Outages through Solarsis Solar PV system
Hyderabad/Vishakhapatnam, India, March 13, 2013-(PressReleasePoint)- With the increase in power tariff, unpredictable power outages and responding to the global warming, Prema Samajam an NGO has solarized their Orphanage Schools and old age homes through Solar Power. A total of 27.6 KW of Solar PV System (SPVS) installed on the rooftop buildings with a sufficient battery bank will now ensure the power availability round the clock by leading Solar System Integrator Solarsis now lights up all their utilities.
The SPVS generates around 125 units of electricity a day sufficient enough to run utilities like lights, fans, TV , kitchen equipment and dinning halls in the school and old age home throughout the day, also help offset 3.75 tonnes of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
“Our goal is to offer sustainable renewable energy solutions through our knowledge of PV solar system design and technology. We hope Prema Samajam solar project at Vishakapatanam will not only generate clean electricity for the school but will also become a learning centre for students and neighboring communities to experience and realise the benefits of renewable energy,” said Venkat Rajaraman, CEO Solarsis whose team provided the design, hardware and consultancy for the project.
“Prema Samajam is always concerned about human and societal wellbeing, and we feel elated for taking up this initiative. We are very happy to see how Solar is able to address our electricity needs. We plan to implement solar systems in our leprosy home very soon.” Ramabrahmam, President, Prema Samajam said.
The total cost of the Solar PV power plant is valued over Rs: 50 Lakhs with an additional Rs:10 lakhs needed to replace the old wiring and main switch boards, including replacement of old bulbs and fans with energy efficient units.
While Central Government of India has agreed to sanction Rs: 15 Lakhs as subsidy, Dr. T. Subbirami Reddy has agreed to allot Rs: 25 Lakhs from the Member of Parliment funds, Ramabrahmam added. An additional finanancial assistance of Rs. 20 Lakhs has come from Visakhapatnam Port Trust to construct the third unit above the Old Age home serving the inmates and dining halls.
It is highly laudable that the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy provides an upfront of 30% capital subsidy on every solar PV plant installation which is a good catalyst towards building Natural energy points to a sustainable future. “We hope this will also pave way for many more such projects in the state.” Venkat added.
Prema Samajam has three electrical connections. Solarsis team did a thorough system and load study based on the electrical bills of one year, as well as the analysis of the power consumption for day and night requirements , and recommend an appropriate Solar PV Plant design to ensure the entire school premises is capable of running on solar power using all the utilities. A team of 15 members worked for more than a week to complete the entire installation which has lifetime of a minimum of 25 years.
