The AMB8567-M functions as a wireless interface for reliably transmitting data from utility meters with a wired interface into a wireless M-Bus or OMS radio network.

Cologne, Germany - October 13, 2011 (PressReleasePoint) - Ringing the doorbell to read meters is a thing of the past. The AMB8567-M pulse RF gateway from AMBER wireless proves particularly useful for remote reading of utility meters with pulse output in the field of wireless meter reading and smart metering. Whether for reading water, gas or electricity meters, the pulse RF gateway creates the necessary conditions for wireless transmission of consumption data.

The AMB8567-M functions as a wireless interface for reliably transmitting data from utility meters with a wired interface into a wireless M-Bus or OMS radio network. The interfaces of the meters can be both floating pulse outputs as well as open collector outputs.

Easy installation and configuration
Using intuitive software, the pulse RF gateway can be remotely installed and configured easily and quickly. In order to establish the radio link and check functions as quickly as possible, the transmission intervals of the wireless gateway can be increased in installation mode. The pulse RF gateway’s data to be transmitted is freely configurable via PC or PDA depending on meter manufacturer, pulse value, unit, meter type, and other data records.

The device can be wall-mounted; the pulse inputs can be connected using screw terminals.

Quick and reliable transfer
The small, practical pulse RF gateway allows for wireless transfer of data between meters and data concentrators (MUCS), as well as data loggers with a wireless M-Bus interface without time-consuming cabling. The use of AES-128 encryption provides secure data transmission.

Batteries already integrated into the pulse RF gateway with a battery life of more than 12 years secure the energy supply for a long time.

OMS - Open Metering System

The pulse RF gateway complies with the German Open Metering System (OMS). As a member of FIGAWA (Companies in the Gas and Water Association) and within the OMS Group, AMBER wireless is significantly involved in the design of OMS specifications.

Wireless and at the same time reliable – a wireless M-Bus interface can easily be connected to utility meters with pulse output using the (AMB8567-M) pulse RF gateway.
