MADISON, Wis. — March 06, 2013 — Sonic Foundry, Inc. (NASDAQ: SOFO), the trusted market leader for video management and academic, enterprise and event webcasting, today announced the appointment of Renee Thomas as Vice President of Marketing.
With more than 20 years of industry experience, Thomas brings an accomplished track record for fueling accelerated growth at top technology companies. Thomas joined Sonic Foundry last month after 15 years at Esker Americas, a worldwide leader in document process automation solutions in Madison, Wis. She holds a Communications degree from the University of Missouri and in 2000 received her Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina.
“Sonic Foundry is excited to welcome Renee to her new Vice President of Marketing role. She has an impeccable ability to recognize early market trends, as well as make complex technologies easy to understand. Renee has extensive experience interacting with clients and analysts, as well as a history of heavy involvement in trade events, user conferences and strategic marketing plans. I’m confident Renee’s background in marketing and sales will help us to further accelerate our business and push the boundaries of the power of video,” said Gary Weis, chief executive officer, Sonic Foundry.
