Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center Selects Wellsoft EDIS for 2 EDs
Wellsoft EDIS will support the bi-directional exchange of home medications and allergies
Somerset, NJ – July 20, 2011 – Wellsoft Corporation today announced that Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center has selected Wellsoft's Emergency Department Information System (EDIS) to be implemented in EDs at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center, a 160 bed hospital in McComb, MS and Lawrence County Hospital, a 25 bed hospital in Monticello, MS. These two hospitals manage care for a combined total of more than 41,000 ED patients each year.
The Wellsoft EDIS implementation will bring some distinct benefits including improved patient tracking and throughput from a more efficient workflow. A key component the Wellsoft implementation is the integration between Wellsoft EDIS and the hospital information system and ancillary systems. Using HL7 compliant interfaces, Wellsoft will integrate with Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center and Lawrence County Hospital's existing suite of McKesson products for registration, order entry and results. In addition, Wellsoft EDIS will support the bi-directional exchange of home medications and allergies.
“Wellsoft’s EDIS solution will help our Emergency Department provide better and more efficient care to our patients,” said Richard Williams, COO of Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center. “Wellsoft’s reputation in the EDIS industry helped us make this choice and we are looking forward to partnering with them going forward.”
"We are excited to work with Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center and Lawrence County Hospital," said Dr. John Santmann, President of Wellsoft. "With Wellsoft EDIS, these Emergency Departments will gain access to real-time data that will help staff improve efficiency and manage patient flow. We are looking forward to this partnership with SWRMC as they focus on their mission of providing excellence in patient care.”
