Spend time in the Kipahulu area in Haleakala National Park just off the famous Hana road. This area includes not only the easily accessed coastal region of Maui, but also an area which is reserved for only limited research as it is a pristine and biologically precious environment. The most common hike through this area is a two mile trail leading you along the Pipiwai Trail through the Oheo Gulch.
