SPI Members to Benefit from Information System for Improved Global Compliance Issue Alerts and Management

(San Antonio, Texas) --   SPI: The Plastics Industry Trade Association and Decernis LLC, a global provider of research and systems for product safety, announced today a strategic cooperative program to improve the communication and management of global compliance issues for SPI members.  Announced at the SPI Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Packaging Materials Committee (FDCPMC) Winter Conference, the program represents SPI’s commitment to assist members in meeting the complex challenges of global compliance requirements and is being designed by an SPI member task force.  This initiative will allow SPI members and customers to be informed of critical compliance issues in a more coherent, timely way and to manage response.

The ability to stay ahead of developing issues on a global basis, to understand the actions necessary and to respond rapidly and appropriately is a critical compliance need in the plastics industry.  Under the newly formed strategic cooperation, SPI plans to use the Decernis Issue Management system as a collaboration platform for SPI members, beginning with the FDCPMC.  The Decernis Issue Management platform will also allow SPI members to link to additional compliance information in the Decernis reference system, gComply.  This information will be available only to SPI members and to defined groups of interest to SPI.

The goal of SPI’s program is to provide the timeliest and most comprehensive information to SPI members through unique channels customized to the industry’s needs for consistent and coherent communication of scientific and regulatory developments important to global product safety.
