Squire Sanders has recently acted for the shareholders of North British Windpower Limited (now Fallago Rig Windfarm Limited) in relation to the sale of the company to EDF Energy Renewables. The company is the owner of the consented 144MW 48 turbine Fallago Rig wind farm project in the Scottish Borders.
London corporate and relationship partner Trevor Ingle, who led the Squire Sanders team, commented: “Working closely with Evercore Partners and Burness, we are delighted to have been able to assist the shareholders of North British Windpower in relation to the sale. Fallago Rig is a major project which is expected to bring renewable energy to over 90,000 Scottish households. The Court of Session upheld the decision of Scottish Ministers to approve the project after two public inquiries. The renewables sector remains an important part of Squire Sanders' global energy practice and throughout 2011 we have continued to experience high volumes of activity across a broad range of renewable energy projects and technologies."
