SSOE's David Schwartz Elected President of the Michigan Chapter of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers
Toledo, OH, April 14, 2009- SSOE, one of the nation's largest architecture and engineering firms, is proud to announceDavid Schwartz, CFPS, NICET IV, a Senior Designer, has been elected the 2009 president of the Michigan Chapter of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE). At the March 2009 meeting, Schwartz was elected as the president with his term to begin in May of this year, ending in May of 2011. For the past two years, Schwartz held the position of first vice president. He was elected to the Board of Directors in 2001, and has been actively involved with the organization since 1995.
David Schwartz is an experienced fire protection consultant for SSOE and specializes in many types of fire protection including wet pipe, dry pipe, deluge, pre-action, anti-freeze, fire pumps and standpipe protection systems. With nearly three decades of experience in his field, he is proficient in AutoCAD and the e-Flo and Hass calculation programs.
Schwartz received his Associate's Degree in Science in Architecture from Henry Ford College, Dearborn, Michigan. He also has several certifications through the National Institute for Certification and Engineering Technologies (NICET). These include Level IV in Automatic Sprinkler System Layout, Level II in Special Hazards System Layout, Level I in Special Hazards Suppression Systems, and Level I in Fire Alarm Systems.
