Belgian company Local Knowledge SNC recently held a sell out event designed to support entrepreneurs set up and run businesses in Belgium.

The event organised by the unique one-stop start up shop in Belgium, Local Knowledge, attracted expats from across Belgium keen to pick up tips on how to ensure their new business start up is quick and smooth.

The opening speaker, Louise Hilditch, of Local Knowledge addressed the legal options available to start ups in Belgium. Next up was Serge Hengesch of Partena Start who covered issues relating to the official registration process and social security.

He was followed by Lawrence Claes, who runs a successful accountancy practice who covered key tax and finance issues. The event was rounded off by Dave Deuytter, a banker with ING advising people on how to get the most from their bank.
Participants also got the benefit of hearing from Glenn Vaughan of the British Chamber of Commerce in Belgium about how to develop and use a successful professional network.

Louise Hilditch, Managing Director of Local Knowledge, says:
“The feedback from participants was very positive and we were overwhelmed by the sheer number of people wanting to register.

We will rerun the event in early2010 so that more people can benefit from the words of wisdom of our expert panellists.”
