Students who need help getting their heads around statistics or scientists looking to brush-up on their stats skills can sign up for BSAS’s latest event to improve their skills.

Following the success of our previous events, we are once again holding a R and Statistics Workshop 2014 at the University of Leeds on 8 and 9 September.

Aimed primarily at postgraduate students studying any animal science related topic, the two-day workshop is also open to any BSAS member who wants to refresh their statistics knowledge.

Led by Davina Hill of SRUC, this is an exciting opportunity to meet other students from around the country interested in the same research area.

The two days will help you to:

  • How to get started with R
  • Simple and multiple regression
  • Analysis of variance (Anova)
  • Model checking
  • Experimental design

The workshop only costs £50 to Student BSAS members, which includes food and one night’s accommodation.

If you are not a BSAS member the workshop costs £125 and you will have to pay for your accommodation and evening meal. You can join BSAS as a postgraduate member for £35 or full member at £70.
