Improving your Administrative and On-the-Spot Verifications - Advanced Seminar, 18th – 19th April 2013

Berlin, Germany., March 21, 2013 - (PressReleasePoint) - The European Commission requests Managing Authorities as well as Intermediate Bodies of EU Structural Funds to guarantee compliance of EU funding with both national and EU law. For verification, Article 13 of Commission Regulation (EC) No 1828/2006 stipulates certain procedures and requirements. Double financing, irregularities and fraud have to be detected and prevented. Administrative verifications and on-the-spot checks according to Art.13 Commission Regulation (EC) No 1828/2006 remain a challenge for first level controllers from all bodies involved in EU Funds.
 
Appropriate verification methods are the key to avoid decisive errors that might lead to reimbursement of funding.

This Advanced Seminar has been designed for experts who have experience in first level control already. They are invited to familiarise themselves with the requested obligations that institutions have to fulfil regarding the administrative and on-the-spot verifications. They will learn how to:

• comply with the requirements regarding personnel and overhead costs and claims;
• prevent, check and detect double financing successfully;
• use simplification of costs correctly;
• obtain information on how to report irregularities to the relevant authorities;
• benefit from a special focus on compliance regulations for infrastructure projects;

• develop effective checklists for verifications and on-the-spot visits;
