Integrated processes from corporate planning through to individual stores

Ernsting's family GmbH & Co. KG has more than 1,470 stores and is growing at a rate of around 80 outlets a year. To ensure that the product offering is continuously optimized and tailored to customer requirements, Hans-Dieter Ernst, managing director of the Ernsting´s family holding company (EHG Service), is driving forward process integration, innovation, and transparency, along with embracing new technologies.

Efficient processes begin at the planning stage with the definition of KPIs for planning processes, such as expansion planning, store planning, capacity planning, and sales planning. Ernsting´s family opted for integrated planning in SAP BI. At the same time, planning processes were extensively redesigned to enable integration into logistics processes, such as procurement (detailed range planning in the purchasing list, ordering), merchandise management, and markdown management. Technical integration of non-SAP systems at Ernsting´s family (e.g., POS software, online store) was performed via the PI/XI integration platform.

“With its industry reference processes, process modeling in ARIS, and integration with SAP Solution Manager, IDS Scheer was able to offer a comprehensive methodology.
