Sumitomo Electric and ExceLight Win Cisco “Excellence in Quality” Supplier Award for 2008

Osaka, Japan, November 10, 2008  Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. and its North American sales subsidiary, ExceLight Communications, Inc. won the Excellence in Quality Award for 2008 at the 17th Annual Supplier Appreciation Event held by Cisco Systems, Inc. (Cisco).

Cisco is a world-leading maker of network equipment, including routers indispensable for the Internet, to which Sumitomo Electric supplies optical communication components and other products through ExceLight. The Excellence in Quality Award is given to suppliers that supply quality products to Cisco through innovative approaches with impressive results. The award acclaims that Sumitomo Electric and ExceLight have strived to improve quality and actually achieved excellent quality as a result.

At Cisco’s Annual Supplier Appreciation Event held in October, John Wyatt, ExceLight President, and Edward Wilson, ExceLight Vice President of Sales, received the prestigious award on behalf of Sumitomo Electric and ExceLight.
