The Summer Camp Expo: Giving Every Child the Choice of Summer Camp

Our Kids Media is hosting its first annual Summer Camp Expo on Saturday February 26, 2011, providing GTA families with all the information they need to find the best Ontario or Quebec camp for them. Proceeds from the event will go towards Kids In Camp, a charity that sends underprivileged children to summer camp in Ontario.

The benefits of summer camp extend well beyond fun around the cabin and campfire. It inspires confidence and independence in campers, creates lifelong friendships, encourages physical activity, instills an appreciation of the outdoors, and stimulates learning outside of school. It is the belief of Our Kids Media that camp should be available to all children, and with this in mind the Expo is organized in support of Kids In Camp, a charity that sends underprivileged children to summer camp in Ontario.

"Summer camp is a time-honored tradition, but it's still as relevant today as it was when it began," says Our Kids Media publisher Agatha Stawicki. "We believe that it should be an option for everyone. My motto is 'there is a camp for every child'."

At the Summer Camp Expo hosted by Our Kids Media, families will meet over 30 of Ontario and Quebec's leading camps, network with other parents and kids in the camp search, and even attend information seminars on how to choose a camp, camp safety, and how camp can benefit children with special needs.

The Our Kids Media Summer Camp Expo will take place at Roy Thomson Hall on Saturday February 26, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
