Surmount Energy assists BRSCCL in achieving National Energy Conservation Award

Surmount Energy, a leader in Green Building Consulting has assisted Belapur Railway Station Commercial Company Limited (BRSCCL) to achieve the National Energy Conservation Award for the year 2012 from Ministry of Power, Government of India. The objective of the National Energy Conservation Award – 2012, was to give national recognition to the team members of the State PWD and CPWD who are maintaining the specific building and have made systematic and serious attempts for efficient utilization and conservation of energy during the years 2010-11 and 2011-12.

CIDCO was awarded second prize in the General Category sector for the efforts taken towards the energy conservation and reduction of wastage of power at the Belapur Railway Station Complex which was undertaken and executed by the Belapur Railway Station Complex Company Limited. To control the level of energy consumption, BRSCCL has taken some considerable measures as suggested by Surmount Energy that included rewiring and reduction of connected lighting load of common areas as well as many other measures. These changes have helped BRSCCL save more than Rs. 10 Lakhs in terms of annual Electricity bill payment. Considering the cost of the Energy Efficiency Improvement Project, the company recovered the amount which totalled to be around Rs. 20 Lakhs within two years of its implementation.
