Fiscal 2009 key points
- Japan production volume decreased year-on-year for the second consecutive fiscal year owing to decreased production for the domestic market and for export.
- Overseas production volume increased year-on-year for the first time in two fiscal years and marked an all-time high owing to increased production in India and China. Indian production and Chinese production each marked an all-time high.
- Global production volume increased year-on-year for the first time in two fiscal years.

Mini vehicles
- Overall unit sales of mini vehicles in Japan decreased year-on-year for the fourth consecutive fiscal year even though the new Alto and a new Palette-based model were launched.
- Suzuki’s share of Japan’s mini-vehicle market was 32.7% (0.7 percentage point up year-on-year).
Non-mini vehicles
- Overall unit sales of non-mini vehicles decreased year-on-year for the second consecutive fiscal year owing to decreased sales of models such as the Swift.
- Suzuki’s share of Japan’s non-mini-vehicle market was 2.1% (0.9 percentage point down year-on-year).
Total sales volume decreased year-on-year for the fourth consecutive fiscal year.
