Swim School Franchise Focuses on Survival of the Littlest
British Swim School Goes National Following Growing Demand for a Lifelong Safety Net. Company Creates e Business Opportunity for Entrepreneurs Interested in Owning and Operating a Swim School Franchise.
SUNRISE, Fla., United States., December 14, 2011 - (PressReleasePoint) - With drowning as the leading cause of death among children under five years old, British Swim School has spent the past 30 years putting a unique twist on traditional swimming classes. As families are seeking to provide a life-long safety net for their loved ones, the company has created a business opportunity for entrepreneurs looking to invest in a promising franchise system.
In the early 1990’s, Rita Goldberg arrived to the United States with one suitcase and less than $5,000 to her name. As a former British national swimmer, she has set out to re-hatch the business model she spent decades perfecting in England – how to teach beginner swimmers as young as three months how to float on their back.
Today, British Swim School has become a safe haven for beginner swimmers, whether an infant or a grown adult, who are in search of a comfortable environment where they can come learn the most crucial water survival skills. With more than 3,000 students on a weekly basis, the company boasts 13 operating locations throughout Florida, Illinois and Maryland and is expected to open 15-20 additional locations over the next several years.
“While spending decades perfecting our business model, we have thought long and hard on how we can present an ideal business opportunity to potential franchisees, despite the uncertain economy,” said Goldberg, who is the Founder and President of British Swim School. “Potential franchisees will be surprised to learn that they do not need to have the experience of an Olympic swimmer in order to run a successful British Swim School franchise.”
Founded in 1981, British Swim School has become renowned for teaching infants the most essential water survival skills. Goldberg has worked vigorously to develop and fine-tune her teaching methods, which has resulted in the ability to alleviate the silent danger of floating face down.
British Swim School was founded in the basement of a Victorian home in Manchester, England. The school quickly became a hot spot for local residents and received 100 bookings the first day the school opened. After operating for nearly a decade in Manchester, Goldberg moved to the United Sates in 1993 and opened her first American-based British Swim School in Coral Springs, Florida.
According to Goldberg, ideal sites for British Swim School franchises include existing locations with built-in pools, such as fitness centers and hotels. The required investment for a single franchise ranges from $41,450 to $89,100, which includes a franchise fee of $25,000 to $40,000, and will cover a potential demographic up to 5,000 students. The company is able to keep investment costs relatively low by adapting the concept into existing buildings where pools have already been built.
With seven specific development levels, the school’s curriculum focuses on water survival skills first and swimming and stroke development second. Each student receives personalized attention to focus on the skills they need most. The passion to successfully instruct each student also trickles down in the training each instructor receives. Instructors are provided with thorough training to ensure lessons are taught in a consistent, professional, gentle and non-traumatic way.
“As a child’s safety remains a number one priority, the last thing a parent is going to financially cut back on is ensuring that their child can learn the necessary safety skills. With the growing popularity of the swim industry, British Swim School is proud to offer a recession proof business model that is fun, flexible and overall rewarding for franchisees.”
