Symmetry Electronics Signs Distribution Agreement with IBASE Technology

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - 1/17/2013 - Symmetry Electronics continues to stake its claim as a leader in the distribution of embedded products for digital signage, gaming, medical, industrial automation, and industrial panel pc applications by signing a distribution agreement with IBASE Technolgy Inc.  IBASE offers various single board computers with: ATX, Mini-ITX, Micro-ATX form factors, industrial motherboards, and stand alone systems with a wide range of AMD and Intel processors.  One key IBASE advantage, in addition to over 170 standard products, is its ability to expedite the production of requirement specific OEM/ODM solutions. Symmetry will immediately begin to promote and sell the full line of IBASE products to complete a recent embedded market expansion which includes the additions of AMD and TUL to a traditionally wireless focused line card.

IBASE Technology is an AMD Embedded Solutions Partner and an Associate Member of the Intel Intelligent Systems Alliance and works very close with both companies to develop high-performance, innovative and dependable products including the SI-08 and SI-38. The SI-08 is a compact (7.9" x 5.9" x 1.4"), fanless digital signage player powered by AMD G-Series Dual Core T56N Accelerated Processing Unit (APU) with AMD Radeon™ HD6320 graphics processing system. With a TDP of 18W, this processor allows for power efficient playback of HD content in a compact system. The SI-08 supports full suite of connectivity standards including:  DVI, Analog CRT, HDMI, Gigabit Ethernet, USB, serial, and analog audio ports.  The SI-08 comes equipped with 2GB of DDR3 main memory and a 320 GB 2.5" Hard Drive.  Optional 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capability may also be added as necessary. The SI-08 represents a cost effective and power efficient digital signage playback solution that is ideal for challenging installation environments.

The award winning SI-38 digital signage player is powered by AMD R-series Quad Core APU and discrete-class AMD Radeon™ graphics engine in APU with up-to 35 watts. SI-38 supports full HD 1080P, dual display video playback with superior graphics. It carries an ultra slim, 1" thin chassis (10.6" x 7" x 1") built with a cast aluminum thermal frame to maximize heat dissipation for additional reliability.  The dual redundant Maglev fans are designed to reliably perform 24/7 duty over extended durations. The player can be wall mounted or used on a desktop.  Gigabit Ethernet, USB 3.0, analog audio and RS-232 serial are standard; Wi-Fi / TV Tuner connections are optional. Up to 16GB of DDR3-1600 system memory may be installed. An externally removable 2.5" HDD or SSD may be installed.

All of IBASE's signage players are designed with a ventilation system that segregates airflow away from sensitive components to prevent dust accumulation and contamination, thus ensuring high reliability and uptime.
