Synovus Names Turner Executive Vice President of Commercial Bank

– Synovus Bank, a Georgia-chartered bank, today announced that Lee T. “Ty” Turner has been named as Executive Vice President of Commercial Bank, a division of Synovus Bank. Turner will transition into the role of President and CEO of Commercial Bank on September 12, 2011. Fred D. Jefferson, who has served as President and CEO, will continue in his role as Synovus Regional CEO and Vice Chairman of the local Board of Commercial Bank.

Turner, a 23-year banking veteran, began his career with Synovus with its SB&T Bank division as a teller. He previously served as Senior Lending Officer and Commercial Lending Officer, and was selected as Vice President of SB&T in 2000. He was named Market President for SB&T in
