Dateline Port Vila, Vanuatu 15 September 2010. Reporter Cristina Alejandra Estrella of Nip and Tuck Solutions spoke with Sam Grant the founder and researcher behind TBL-12 at Unicorn Pacific in Vanuatu.

Sam Grant said that he was researching potential cosmetic clinics to carry out a clinical trial with the TBL-12 product in relation to Epidermolysis Bullosa, commonly known as EB, a group of genetic disorders causing blistering and shearing of the skin from even the gentlest friction, often from everyday activities. Three main types of EB have been identified, (Dystrophic, Simplex and Junctional) with many different sub-types. EB can vary from a relatively mild condition to an incapacitating, and sometimes fatal, disorder.
Sam Grant went onto say that “The results on this disease have been remarkable, while we have always known that TBL-12 helps with wound healing and reducing scar tissue, to see how it has been working with these children, as been great.”
Sam Grant is sending out a call to Plastic Surgeons who are interested in trying TBL-12 before and after surgery. There are a couple of reasons for this, which Sam Grant has explained.
“Firstly, quite a bit of research on TBL-12 as a Cancer Treatment has been done up to this date, research has been specifically aimed towards Multiple Myeloma, as there is where we have had our best support from the Medical Profession, and as you know, research cannot be conducted unless it is done by reputable and well known researchers.”
Asked which research institutions and Doctors where currently involved in TBL-12 research, Mr Grant went onto say. “Currently we have our main study being done at Mount Sinai in New York City, this was the one that began at St. Vincent’s in New York City, but was moved when the Multiple Myeloma Unit was moved to Mount Sinai. As well as this, we have a couple of new Studies being organised at NYU in New York City, this will be for Multiple Myeloma and Melanoma but other Cancers are also being investigated. The NYU Study will be a multi-site study, currently looking at 3 sites, all around the New York Area. In New Zealand, we have the Prostate Cancer Phase II Clinical Trial (all the studies are at least Phase II) as well as an Observation on Epidermolysis Bullosa ”
We asked Sam Grant how he proposed to continue his research into EB or Epidermolysis Bullosa and he went onto say, “What we are looking for are a couple of Plastic Surgeons who would be willing to use the product, 1 month before and 2 months after the operation and report the benefits, to Healing, Time-frame and Scaring. We would supply the product free of charge, and once we get results, we would be prepared to work out some sort of distribution for them for their patients, if they decide the benefits are worthwhile.”
Miss Estrella asked if there were any side effects from the use of TBL-12? Sam Grant responded “the product is safe without any side effects. I have attached some documents showing this information, but would be more than happy to supply whatever they need to make sure they feel comfortable.”
In our next release Miss Estrella will discuss the future development plans for a fully fledged oncological clinic and Beauty Spa at Manuro shores in Vanuatu
