SEATTLE, May 11, 2009—The Data Warehousing Institute (TDWI) has announced it will host its summer 2009 World Conference in San Diego, CA, from August 2–7, 2009.

TDWI's premier BI/DW education event emphasizes BI building blocks and advanced data modeling. The full-day courses will focus on essentials for building your business intelligence foundation and how to use data as an asset. Attendees will also learn popular data warehouse architectures as well as advanced data modeling techniques. In addition, the TDWI BI Executive Summit will be co-located at the event in San Diego.

According to TDWI President Richard Zbylut, the current challenging business climate emphasizes the need for BI and DW training. “When times get tight, businesses need to utilize their BI solutions more than ever. Businesses have an opportunity to utilize their data to gain efficiencies and improve revenue. TDWI's World Conference provides the training BI professionals need to help their companies through, especially in tough times."

Industry leaders such as Anthony Politano, consultant and author, and David Wells, BI consultant, mentor, and teacher, will deliver keynote presentations to support the conference. Politano will explain the importance of a chief performance officer role in an organization, while Wells will present business analytics for today’s economic pressures.

TDWI’s World Conference in San Diego is a vendor-neutral BI and DW education event that offers more than 45 full- and half-day courses taught by industry practitioners. This conference will bring together technical as well as nontechnical BI and DW professionals from a wide range of companies and industries to explore the trends, techniques, and methodologies that shape their respective fields.
