Tekla Solutions for Energy Utilities Regional use Expands in Sweden
December 15, 2011 --
Tekla Solutions for energy utilities' regional use expands in Sweden.
Regional use of Tekla Solution for energy utilities expands in Sweden. Eight municipal energy companies in the Skaraborg area in southwestern Sweden cooperate by adopting Tekla NIS (Network Information System) as their common network documentation and management system.
The cooperation agreement is signed between Hjo Energi, Tibro Energi, Karlsborg Energi, Mariestad Töreboda Energi, Skara Energi, Tidaholms Energi, Lidköping Elnät and Götene Elförening. The participating companies distribute electricity to over 68,000 customers and district heating to about 5,700 customers.
Tekla NIS is familiar to most participating companies, as five of them have utilized Tekla's solutions for several years. Within the cooperative organization, Skara Energi hosts Tekla NIS for all the companies.
According to Tord Toverland, Managing Director of Tibro Energi, the companies benefit significantly from the arrangement:
- Compared to purchasing and using an own system, the participating companies gain significant cost advantages from regional use. Cooperation brings the opportunity to have a shared main user of the system, which would be problematic to arrange for each of us separately. In addition to this, market and technology development as well as the Swedish Energy Markets Inspectorate (Energimarknadsinspektionen) all demand a high level of reporting that can be easily produced by Tekla's solution.
- With the cooperation, we have the possibility to increase both our internal knowledge and collaboration between the different companies. We cooperate in the form of experience exchange, common trainings and regulatory authority reporting. A great economic benefit comes from the fact that software upkeep and upgrades can be done on one system instead of in eight locations.
Toverland is positive regarding the common future of Tekla and the cooperative companies.
- We see a positive future with Tekla NIS. We hope the software will continue to develop with us as customers.
Also Peter Lindmark, Tekla's Account Manager, is pleased about the cooperation agreement reached by the participating companies:
- We are very happy about this project, as cooperation gives our eight customers better possibilities to utilize their Tekla Solution in a more efficient way.
