54,000 restaurant listings from Ristoitalia.info (Italy) to be available for location-based and navigation applications using Tele Atlas digital maps

Gent, Belgium, 4 September 2009— Tele Atlas, a leading global provider of digital maps and dynamic content for navigation and location-based solutions, and Ridal srl, developer of the Italian restaurant information portal Ristoitalia.info, today announced an agreement to make Ristoitalia.info’s database of nearly 54,000 restaurants in Italy available to Tele Atlas digital map users.

Ristoitalia.info offers free access to a range of relevant information, including descriptions of the restaurant, reservations, accessibility, type of kitchen, menu, daily specials, average price, and opening hours. Ristoitalia.info information includes detailed listings for each Italian province and for major cities across the country, including Florence, Milan, Rome and Venice.

Through this agreement, Tele Atlas will have access to the full information included in the RistoItalia.info network and incorporate the restaurant locations as categorized points of interest (POIs) on the map. The Ristoitalia.info listings will be available for application developers and device manufacturers to incorporate into personal and in-car navigation systems powered by Tele Atlas maps, helping to provide end users with an enhanced, accurate and content-rich navigation experience.

Pietro Salmoiraghi, POI Specialist at Tele Atlas, commented on the agreement that: “Tele Atlas’ collaboration with Ridal srl will help deliver a richer and more personalized navigation experience by making it easier for travelers in Italy to find the restaurants that suit their preferences.”

“Ridal srl is proud to work with Tele Atlas and its partners to help ensure our members’ information is available through Tele Atlas maps. By doing so, Ristoitalia.info users will be able to gain mobile access to valuable restaurant information and navigate easily to their destinations,” explained Daniele Della Volta from Ridal srl.
