Telekom Malaysia Berhad and Axiata Group Berhad Recognized at Frost & Sullivan’s 2014 Asia Pacific ICT Awards

Frost & Sullivan celebrated deserving ICT industry players at the annual 2014 Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific ICT Awards held on Wednesday, 25 June 2014 at the Alkaff Mansion in Singapore.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, June 26, 2014 -(PressReleasePoint)- Frost & Sullivan celebrated deserving ICT industry players at the annual 2014 Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific ICT Awards held on Wednesday, 25 June 2014 at the Alkaff Mansion in Singapore.

In its 11th consecutive year, the Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific ICT Awards program seeks to recognize companies and individuals that have  demonstrated best practices in their industry, commending the diligence,  commitment, and innovative business strategies required to advance in the  global marketplace. Telekom Malaysia Berhad and Axiata Group Berhad were among the companies recognized.

Telekom Malaysia Berhad receives Fixed Broadband Service Provider of the Year award for the 3rd consecutive time.

Telekom Malaysia Berhad demonstrated exemplary growth and performance in the fixed broadband segment. It achieved remarkable growth in terms of its subscribers and broadband revenues during the year. The provider played a  crucial role in increasing Malaysia’s fixed broadband penetration from 23.0% in 2009 to 67.1% in 2013. It registered highest gain (4.2%) in its  market share from 89.0% in 2012 to 93.0% in 2013, and has more than 41.0%  subscribers on high speed broadband. It also recorded highest broadband revenue growth, and has the highest ARPU in the region.

Axiata Group Berhad is the Asia Pacific Telecom Group of the Year for the 6th consecutive time.

In 2013, Axiata Group successfully adapted to the changing needs of customers, and as a result observed the highest subscriber growth among all telecom groups in the Asia Pacific region. The group’s proportional subscribers grew by 22.0%, and proportional revenues grew by 5.6% at constant currency. It also showcased the highest operational profitability in the region by delivering EBITDA margin of 38.4%. The group continues to transform itself by aligning itself with changing consumer preferences and technological advancements through several strategic initiatives and investments, and is continuously progressing towards its strategic vision to be the regional champion by 2015.
