400 Families to Receive Food and Essentials

BRISTOL, Tenn. (May 9, 2014) – On Friday, May 9, Feed The Children will deliver a semi tractor-trailer full of food and essentials to help 400 Bristol area families. The food and essentials will be distributed at 4 p.m. at the Teleperformance Call Center (2536 W. State St.).

Teleperformance is a longtime supporter of Feed The Children and is sponsoring the event. Employees from the Bristol Call Center will also be on hand to help distribute boxes.

More than one in four children living in Sullivan County (30 percent) are considered impoverished. In fact, the number of children living in poverty in Tennessee (377,066) could fill Bristol Motor Speedway more than two times.

Feed The Children partner agency the United Way of Bristol, Tennessee will pre-identify families receiving the boxes. Each family will receive a 25-pound box of food and a 10-pound box of personal care items. The boxes are designed to help a family of four for up to one week.
