Telerik Reporting Enters the Azure Cloud, Brings Affordable Reporting to SMEs

The latest version of Telerik Reporting introduces support for Windows Azure, and export to Word, PowerPoint and Excel 2007/2010

WALTHAM, MA, April 28, 2011 - Telerik, an end-to-end provider of software application lifecycle and content management solutions for .NET, today announced that the new version of its Telerik Reporting product for creating reusable interactive reports fully supports the Microsoft® Windows Azure™ platform, including SQL Azure. Windows Azure provides developers with on-demand processing and storage to host, scale, and manage web applications on the internet through Microsoft® datacenters. By supporting Windows Azure, Telerik Reporting extends its already wide range of supported .NET platforms (Silverlight, ASP.NET, WPF, and Windows Forms). The new version also broadens the supported export formats to Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint and Excel 2007+.

In addition to cloud support, the latest release of Telerik Reporting comes with new exporting capabilities by providing native support for the Office Open XML standard, enabling data to be moved between disparate applications. As a result, all report elements (such as tables and crosstabs) and their corresponding data are exported as editable elements. The exported reports can be opened by all document applications that support the Office Open XML standard, such as Microsoft Office PowerPoint, Word, and Excel 2007/2010, and can be further edited by the end user, shared via email, and even presented right away.
