School and Graduation photo specialist Tempest Photography has selected NetDespatch powered Royal Mail Tracked® services to boost service levels for its online and mail order business. The web shipping and tracking system is supporting the company's surging growth in direct order business and speeding collection and delivery of photographs and gifts to tens of thousands of customers throughout the UK.
“Royal Mail Tracked is good value for money and with the integrated NetDespatch Velocity system it provides a high tech web booking service that helps streamline our administration. The service from Royal Mail Tracked is excellent and that in turn means we provide the highest levels of service to our customers,” says Rob Dickens, Despatch Manager, Tempest Photography.
Tempest Photography currently uses the service to book collections using the powerful address book facility and to print Royal Mail Tracked shipping labels. The system is entirely web-based and does not require any special dedicated hardware or software. Tempest Photography despatchers simply access the system through a secure login page. It also enables customers to access tracking data and proof of delivery provided by the Royal Mail Tracked Services website. When the Royal Mail Collection Manifest is produced, pre-advice data is transferred automatically and securely to the Royal Mail servers.
“We have been using the NetDespatch Royal Mail web software since December 2010. We were already familiar with Velocity and, therefore, we knew it was flexible and reliable. It automates our order despatch process and reduces our administration and paperwork. It frees us to focus on serving our customers and it provides the flexibility for further integration with our online store. This will further enhance our product and service offerings,” says Rob Dickens.
Joann Bickle, Business Development Manager at Royal Mail adds: “Tempest Photography chose NetDespatch Velocity when it became clear that the business needed a powerful web based system to manage large volumes of parcels. Importantly, NetDespatch completed the implementation within 48 hours. It is a flexible solution and allows Royal Mail Tracked customers to extend the system to fit their needs. It provides high throughput and helps them with order fulfilment and adds speed to despatch management.”
Royal Mail recently launched its improved and extended range of tracked services to smaller retailers to help them improve the delivery experience for their customers. More than 1,500 retailers are currently registered to use Royal Mail Tracked®, a low cost, two-day delivery service which tracks an item’s progress at every stage from the retailer’s warehouse to the customer’s doorstep, with confirmation of the successful delivery of a parcel within 15 minutes.
Now Royal Mail Tracked® gives smaller e-tailers and catalogue companies the option to choose to send delivery updates to consumers by text or email. This follows the successful roll out the additional service options, which also include signature on delivery, management reports available to retailers to help them manage call handling and a 15kg weight limit, to large volume retailers. Royal Mail also launched the Royal Mail Tracked Next Day® product for large and smaller volume retailers who want to offer their shoppers an even quicker delivery.
