A Third 650 Point Winner is Announced in Carrigaline, Co. Cork.

Carrigalines innovative town loyalty program produces it's third winner in the Shop September promotion. Anita Meade is drawn from the hundreds of people who used their card in the previous week to win 50 points from each participating business.

CORK, SEPTEMBER 20 - The 3rd winner of the Carrigdhoun localrewards.ie Shop September weekly draw is Anite Meade. Anita used her Carrigaline localrewards.ie Loyalty Card during the week and by doing so was automatically entered into the weekly draw. When drawn at random from the eligible cardholders Anita identified Moscow as the capitol of Russia and wins 650 points from participating businesses across the town.

The promotion is part of an ongoing initiative by Carrigalines leading independent businesses to encourage local shopping.The town was facing competition from Cork city, just minutes away so they decided to find a way to keep business in the town. Having looked at a number of options such as branded Discount Cards the decision was made to launch Ireland first town-wide loyalty card under the localrewards.ie name. Each business can issue their own points which are valid only in that business. Cardholders can access all the individual loyalty programs with their one Carrigaline localrewards.ie card and also see their balances and transaction history online. The program is made possible using internet technology developed by Cork company myrewardcard.ie.

The Shop September promotion is sponsored by The Carrigdhoun as their contribution to keeping Carrigaline a thriving commercial town. It consists of 4 weekly draws and a Grand Prize at the end of the month. Every Saturday a registered card that has been used in the previous week is drawn at random. If the person correctly identifies the capital of a European country they win 50 points from each business. The Grand Prize Draw takes place at the end of the month for all cardholders who have used their card in 2 different business during the month. The winner of the Grand Prize gets 1,300 points and €250.

Cardholders are automatically entered for the weekly draw when they use a registered card in any of the 13 participating businesses; Pet Essentials, Batemans Shoes, Kool Kidz Korner, Carrigaline Bookshop, Express Tyre Centre, Spice Indian Restaurant, Cahills Menswear, Mano Mano, Chocolate Hair Group, Carrigaline Auto Centre, The Print Studio, Celine's Beauty Rooms and Rothar Cycles.
