India’s leading online bus ticketing player Ticketgoose.com joins hands with TiE Chennai to launch ‘Tycoon Express’, a student entrepreneur initiative
 
The initiative will be launched in 20 colleges in Chennai and Bangalore and will move to  
other metros by end 2013
 
Chennai-based Ticketgoose.com, India’s leading online bus booking player announced the launch of a student entrepreneur initiative, ‘Tycoon Express’ as a part of its Young Entrepreneur Development Program.  This initiative is in collaboration with TiE, Chennai Chapter, to support critical growth factors of Indian economy - Entrepreneurship and Innovation. 
With India poised to become the youngest nation in the world by 2020, there is a need to create 14 crore jobs over the next decade. This scenario would require creation of a vibrant entrepreneurial eco system to generate wealth, employment and economic growth.  It is estimated that there could be 2,500 successful high growth ventures by year 2022 that could generate revenues over Rs.10 lakh crore per annum.
 
A total number of 120 students will be trained during this six- month programme, where-in three students will be chosen from every selected college. The programme’s practical intensive modules will not only help empower the students, but will also nurture them in transferring their learning amongst their peers. The training program will also include a “Business Plan Competition” that will enable participating students to gain practical insights from industry experts on the fundamentals of setting up their own venture.
