Tier-1 South Pacific Mobile Operator Chooses Procera
Fremont, CA., Aug. 30, 2011 -- Procera Networks, Inc. (NYSE Amex: PKT), the intelligent policy enforcement company, today announced that an existing Tier-1 mobile operator customer—the largest in a South Pacific nation—has chosen PacketLogic™ solutions to be the core of its new satellite bandwidth service to a new national wholesale-only, open access high-speed broadband network.
Known for providing satellite bandwidth to a number of ISPs, this operator will be using both real-time enforcement and intelligence center hardware and software platforms to deliver satellite connectivity to account for coverage gaps in a national broadband network that services 93 percent of homes, schools and businesses, providing 100 Mbps data rates. The satellite and fixed wireless provided by this Procera customer will connect the remaining premises with 12 Mbps or more.
"Throughout Asia-Pacific, network operators have seen the difficulties faced by their counterparts in other regions of the world and recognize the crucial nature of network intelligence," said Ben Teh, VP Asia Pacific and Japan for Procera Networks. "This is the latest Tier-1 operator to place a follow on order with Procera, choosing PacketLogic solution over less robust and inflexible offerings from competitors.
"Procera's PacketLogic solution performs at full load according to specifications and delivers real-time visibility down to hub, ISP, host, user and protocol, making troubleshooting extremely easy," said Mr. Teh.
The PacketLogic family of intelligent policy enforcement solutions offers network operators the true real-time visibility needed to actively monitor their network 24x7 and ensure a maximum quality of experience for their subscribers. With a combined hardware and software solution that scales under real network conditions and avoids the congestion points experienced by competing solutions, Procera has provided this customer with a complex rule sets to handle service plans for both their ISP's and end customers.
Procera will exhibit at the Broadband Traffic Management Asia show in Suntec, Singapore Sept. 5. Additionally, Ben Teh will be speaking in a panel focused on "Exploring the Evolution of Data Traffic in Asia."
