New video reveals what the fraud triangle is, how it is useful to business owners and how understanding why people commit fraud can help to set guidelines or deterrent for the protection of business and business assets.

Reno, Nevada, January 2, 2013 - (PressReleasePoint) - Tim Nelson, a partner at Evan Nelson & Company, CPAs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cu0GRqDHFHM. A leading CPA firm in Reno describes in a new video what the fraud triangle is and how it is useful to business and business owners. In the video, Tim explains that business fraud occurs based on three main reasons - opportunity, motivation, and rationalization. He further goes to explain that understanding why people commit fraud can help to set guidelines or deterrent for the protection of business and business assets.

"I have been doing research and investigation of fraud and forensic accounting matters for about twelve years, and love it! The “sleuthing” of accounting really gets me going.  I love seeing how the fraudster got away with it, assisting law enforcement in putting away the bad guys, or even resolving how an owner is stealing from his partners!  It can be complex or as simple as fixing procedures around the office to deter employees or customers from making off with the valuable assets of the company." said Tim Nelson

He is a certified Public Accountant CPA, a Certified Valuation Analyst CVA and a Certified Fraud Examiner CFE. He has served as the CFO, CEO, president, and other levels of executive for a casino-gaming establishment that grossed $25 million a year. He has worked for a high tech NASDAQ company which had operations in 15 states and Hong Kong. He worked as an executive for a division of Dole, a multinational fruit company. Later, he ran an insurance and financial services conglomerate that included a service and loan operation, two insurance companies, and two insurance brokerages. He has also worked as the executive for a private equity company.

Today, Tim is focused on providing a variety of financial services to his clients. He specializes in IRS representation, personal and small business tax preparation, and small business financial consulting.  Tim is known as a “good guy, who gets his stuff done right.”
