TMS strengthens AU/Asia operations to meet increased client demand
TMS Asia-Pacific has begun expanding its Australia, Singapore and Shanghai teams to meet increased client demand
Underpinning his New Year predictions that all the early pointers indicate an upturn in business for the hospitality and tourism sector in 2010, TMS CEO Andrew Chan has begun expanding his Australia, Singapore and Shanghai teams to meet increased client demand.
Mr Chan said the staff increases follow a marked increase in the number of job orders the company is now receiving in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
As a result team numbers have been increased with the recent appointment of recruitment consultant Karen McGrath in Sydney while a further two staff are expected to further swell the company’s Sydney staff numbers in coming weeks.
“In Australia we are continuing to see an increase in permanent job orders for experienced high end consulting, business development and account management,” he said.
“But we are also seeing a pick-up in demand for junior and support roles with several companies looking to replace staff lost across 2009 as business picks up.”
The company’s Singapore and Shanghai offices are also looking to take on extra headcount.
Mr Chan said the catalyst for much of the company’s increased activity in Singapore could be attributed to the impact the opening of the new integrated resorts at Marina Bay and on Sentosa was having on the local employment scene.
The same, he said, applied to Shanghai where staffing demands emanating from the city’s hosting of the 2010 World EXPO has had a marked effect.
