Will Play a Doubleheader on Tuesday July 15th as Part of Thirsty Tuesday
Wilson, N.C.—There was sun for most of the day in Wilson, but then the rain clouds came around 2:30 in the afternoon and dropped a healthy amount of moisture. They would part around 4:30, which gave hope that tonight’s game, sponsored by Wilson Ortho, would go off without a hitch, but the rain returned about an hour later, signaling the end of the night’s festivities before anybody took the field.
The game will be Postponed until July 15th, when the Edenton Steamers will yet again make their way back to historic Fleming Stadium. Because tonight’s game was supposed to be a Thirsty Thursday promotion, the Tobs are moving the soft drink and beer special promotion to Tuesday’s doubleheader. The doubleheader will feature two seven inning games with the first pitch of game number one scheduled for 6:05 and gates opening at 5 P.M.
The Tobs take to the road for a couple of days before heading into the All-Star break where they will send Ben Schmucker, Seth LaRue and Christian Slazinik. Tomorrow night’s game will be in Morehead City as the Tobs look to snap a three game losing streak to the Marlins before the Tobs head to Petersburg for just the second time this summer.
