TomTom delivers Real Time Traffic Data in Spain

ITS Bilbao, 21 October 2011– TomTom has extended its agreement with Nexus Geografics, adding TomTom real time traffic information to Nexus’ current product offering. Through this partnership, Nexus becomes the first user of TomTom’s real time traffic data in Spain.

TomTom licenses its Enterprise Traffic product to Nexus, giving it access to the most accurate information on delays and congestion on the road network. This dynamic real time traffic information helps Nexus deliver a more innovative offering to its customers in the transport & logistics and internet segments.

TomTom real time traffic uses information from multiple sources, including anonymous GPS measurements from connected portable navigation devices and smartphones, connected fleet GPS devices, road sensors and journalistic data. Using proven proprietary methods, TomTom combines this information and makes it available

in 18 countries for use in applications ranging from government traffic control centers to navigation systems.

Nexus is TomTom’s official distributor in Spain for maps, enhancement content and traffic. By integrating the Enterprise Traffic product in Nexus’ LBS platform, they can offer new API’s to their customers.
