TreeTunes.com has relaunched with 7 million songs including major label and indie content.

TreeTunes.com has partnered with content provider MediaNet to re-launch with a catalog of 7 million songs including major label content. The site has been redesigned to accommodate music searches by song and artist as well as adding some weekly music news.

“We’re very happy to have MediaNet as our content provider”, said TreeTunes CEO Mo Stroemel. “They’ve been extremely helpful in our redesign and their staff has made the expansion to a larger content catalog as easy as it could possibly have been.”

TreeTunes.com has been operating for the last nine years as an independent only download site and recently made the decision to seek out major label content. Stroemel said now that TreeTunes has access to a much larger catalog, his company, Long Tree Music, is seeking next round marketing capital from investors.

“It’s taken awhile”, Stroemel said, “but now that we’ve got the content, it’s time to rock and roll so to speak. “ Stroemel said that he knows they are up against some leviathan competition, but he hopes to position the new company as an anti-corporate, fun-oriented organization that will appeal to the main market segment. “We have some fun ideas that we hope will get people to at least give us a try. Then it’ll be up to us to keep them.”
