--February 11, 2010 - Tropos Networks, the market leader in IP broadband mesh networks, today announced that its GridCom architecture has received a 2009 SmartGrid.TMCnet.com Product of the Year Award fromTechnology Marketing Corporation(TMC) andIntelligent Communications Partners.

Tropos' GridCom is a wireless broadband distribution area network solution for Smart Grid communications utilizing open-standard radios and Internet Protocol (IP) communications. Smart Grids require broadband networks to build a solid foundation upon which multiple demanding smart grid applications such as distribution automation, substation security, and demand response can be deployed.
