New Jersey author and positive psychologist Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein will be speaking to a group of tween-aged girls in Stanton, IA about her book THE TRUTH (I’m a girl, I’m smart and I know everything).

Stanton High School, located in Southwest Iowa, has 100 students. Although a small school, they have outstanding test scores and student activities; with a State champion football team. With also a good fine arts department, Lisa Whigham, special education teacher, said “small schools provide opportunities for students to participate and excel in a wide variety of activities.

“We have high expectations of our students and they tend to meet these expectations most of the time,” Whigham said.

The girls of Stanton recently discovered THE TRUTH and enjoyed it so much and found the fictional girl character so funny, the school wanted to bring in Dr. Barbara virtually to hold a discussion.

Stanton has been featured in magazines and on the David Letterman Show for having the world’s largest coffee pot and teacup.
