Turbo Tax Freedom Edition 2013: Free Online Filing for Low Income Families

Intuit Inc., one of the private firms in partnership with the IRS for the Free File Alliance program which allows low income families to file their federal taxes for free online has introduced the Turbo Tax Freedom Edition 2013.

Traverse City MI., February 4, 2013 - (PressReleasePoint) - The IRS has partnered with private tax preparation companies including Intuit Inc. makers of Turbo Tax in a program called the IRS Free File Alliance. The program allows qualifying low income families to file their federal taxes free of charge using Intuit's Turbo Tax Freedom Edition 2013 http://harborfi.typepad.com/tax/2011/05/turbotax-freedom-edition.html. Taxpayers in 23 selected states that support the Free File Alliance can also file their state tax returned free of charge.

To be eligible to file through Turbo tax Freedom Edition, taxpayers must have earned an Adjusted Gross Income of $31,000 or less. If they do not meet that requirement, then they must either have been in active military duty and earn below or equal to $57,000 or be eligible for the Earned Income Credit (EIC). Turbo tax Freedom Edition also makes it possible for CPAs, IRS Enrolled Agents and tax attorneys provide support to tax payers through chat, phone or live one-to-one interaction.

Eligible taxpayers in 23 states: Arkansas, Arizona, District Of Columbia, Delaware, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, North Dakota, New York, Oklahoma, Oregon , Rhode Island, South Carolina, Virginia, Vermont and West Virginia can also prepare and file their state tax returns free of charge.
