Tutor Saliba Learning Method Announces French Materials Development
Instructional teaching materials for bi-lingual educators are now in the developmental stages. The translation project is slated to begin this summer.
Portland, OR – May 11, 2011 – New teaching materials in keeping with the tutor saliba learning philosophy will soon be available in French. The new project was announced this week by Jeff Saliba, creator and founder of the tutor saliba learning method.
“We are very excited about the addition of another language to our teaching materials,” said Saliba. “This comes on the heels of the Spanish informational materials that were developed last year. In the midst of the process we discovered many teachers and tutors seeking the same information in the French language. We want to fill that gap.”
The teaching materials will assist French-speaking educators in understanding the basic concepts of the learning method by presenting them in their native language. There is currently a wide array of materials available for English-speaking educators and a growing collection in Spanish. The use of translated materials will involve at least three translators working on the production process who are familiar with the tutor saliba concept and philosophy. The transcription and translation of speeches and workshops given by Saliba should begin this summer. The work on manuals and workbooks will begin after those are complete. Identical or similar sample problems will mirror those given in English.
“This new development is about breaking down communication barriers and promoting learning,” said Saliba. “When teachers and students cannot make progress due to language barriers, then we need to build a bridge around those barriers. That is what we are doing here.”
The tutor saliba learning method offers educators the option to present materials to students who are oral learners, visual learners and auditory learners. The method was originally created by Saliba while he was working with a student who struggled with school due to learning disabilities.
About Tutor Saliba Learning: The tutor saliba method (http://www.tutorsalibalearning.com/) focuses on learning for children through visual, auditory and oral means.
