TVA To Close Portion of County Road 96 for Approximately Three Weeks

STEVENSON, Ala. – County Road 96 between County Road 70 and the north end of Alabama State Route 277 will be closed to traffic for approximately three weeks starting June 30, 2014. TVA will be reinforcing a portion of the road that will be used for a soil capping project of the containment facilities.

A complete closure is necessary for the safety of motorists and road crews. Full access should be restored by 5 p.m. CST on Friday, July 18. Detour information is posted along County Road 70 and prior to the work area. Vehicle turnarounds have been constructed at both ends of the closure.

In the event of stormy weather, work may be extended or rescheduled.
