Two Belgian quality management specialists are joining forces. Quality by Design, or QbD for short, is acquiring a majority stake in Neomatics. The two companies offer complementary solutions for life science companies, hospitals, laboratories and the cosmetics sector. Thanks to the expanded range of services offered, Quality by Design and Neomatics want to increase their footprint in these sectors. Without merging: QbD and Neomatics will remain separate entities.
Quality by Design provides its customers with consultancy services in connection with validation, technology transfer, quality management and QP services. “The business solutions of Neomatics are an interesting addition to our services,” says Bart Van Acker, Managing Director of QbD. “Neomatics developed a cost-effective platform based on Microsoft SharePoint for managing documents, work flows and quality. Just like us, it targets organisations that have to deal with strict regulations and process standardisation.”
With the ExpressPacks from Neomatics, the employees concerned can manage quality-related processes connected with, amongst other things, the publication of documents, the handling of non-conformities and complaints, declarations of competence and device monitoring in an orderly and efficient manner. Later this year Neomatics will launch a mobile version of the platform. The company is led by Sven Mus and Mo Aarab. Sven Mus focuses on business development, Mo Aarab on the innovative development of the products.
“Our companies have the same target groups, but the customer portfolio is distributed completely differently,” says Sven Mus. “Traditionally, QbD is strongly represented in pharmaceutical and biotech companies, Neomatics in hospitals. Through this collaboration we want to fully utilise the business potential across these sectors. By the end of 2015, for example, we want to make ten small and medium-sized life science companies customers of our ExpressPack Quality. Over the next few years we also want to expand the European business in the footsteps of QbD.”
