Two conclaves on “Mechanical and Materials Sciences” and “Electrical Sciences” are being conducted at the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar on March 15 and 16, 2014.
Ahmedabad, Gujarat, March 17, 2014 -(PressReleasePoint)- Two conclaves on “Mechanical and Materials Sciences” and “Electrical Sciences” are being conducted at the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar on March 15 and 16, 2014. The primary objective of these conclaves is to discuss the pedagogy in engineering institutions in Gujarat.
Organised under the Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP) initiative of Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD) and Government of Gujarat, the conclaves aim to create a strong network of faculty and experts across various educational institutions by bringing them to a common platform. Faculties from Birla Vishvakarma Mahavidhyalaya, Vallabh Vidhyanagar; Shantilal Shah Engineering College, Bhavnagar; L.D. College of Engineering, Ahmedabad; and Government Engineering Colleges at Bhavnagar, Gandhinagar, Patan, Rajkot and Morbi will take part in the conclaves.
Various strategies including teaching theoretical, mathematical, mechanics types of courses, descriptive or information based courses, conducting laboratory sessions, and project guidance are being discussed in a variety of interactive sessions in the conclaves.
IITGN faculty Prof Pratyush Dayal who is one of the coordinators of the conclave said, “Besides showcasing model sessions from eminent teachers, the conclave will have several brainstorming sessions followed by panel discussions to bring out the gap areas for everyone to improve upon.”
The conclave on “Mechanical and Materials Sciences” will focus on Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering and Material science and Metallurgy while the conclave on “Electrical Sciences” will focus on areas such as Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, Communications, Computer Science and Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, etc.
