Two Remedial Building Services Fire Rating Products Receive BRANZ Certification
Remedial Building Services' new fire rating department has achieved BRANZ certification for two of their products. The company is a leading provider of specialist building services including intumescent paint and commercial floors.
- (PressReleasePoint) - Silverwater, NSW -- Remedial Building Services newest department, the fire rating department, has achieved BRANZ certification for two of its fire rating products. The products that were tested are designed to limit the structural damage of fire in different circumstances.
The first product tested was to determine the "Fire resistance of structural steel using British Gypsum Glasroc F Firecase Frameless Encasement in accordance with AS4100 up to 120 minutes." The second test was to ascertain the "Fire resistance of a mineral fibre barrier with service penetrations." Both products passed their respective tests and were awarded the appropriate certification.
BRANZ is an independent and impartial research, testing, consulting and information company that provides services and resources for the building industry. In order to be given certification, BRANZ undertakes a series of high heat tests of the products, which emulate a celluloisic fire.
"Remedial Building Services has always provided the highest quality products and service while adhering to the strict standards set forth by independent agencies like BRANZ. We take pride in the fact that our newest department, the fire rating department, has achieved these two certifications, and we'll continue to put forth more products for testing in the future," noted Jeff Anderson, Director of Sales at Remedial Building Services.
Remedial Building Services Australia exists to provide specialty building services encompassing building structure repair, protective coatings such as intumescent paint, and commercial floors as well as specialised services for the mining industry.
"Our expectation for the Fire Rating Department is to develop relationships with architects and engineers and work with them to have fire rating factored into the design and engineering phases, long before the building phase even starts. Fire rating is often overlooked and treated as an afterthought in the building process. Too often, the builder is left with meeting fire rating standards, when it really should be considered during the design phase. Factoring in fire ratings at the early stages of a project is a more cost-effective way to meet fire rating requirements," explained Anderson.
