Two Time Academy Award Nominee Talia Shire to Receive Action On Film International Film Festival Award

Pasadena, CA – April 19, 2010 --The AOF Festival VI which will return to Pasadena, CA for it’s sixth annual event has recently named 2 Time Academy Award Nominee Talia Shire as it Lifetime Achievement Award Winner for 2010 at the AOF Black Tie Dinner and Award Show July 29, 2010.

“Talia Shire has been a part of two of the greatest film franchises in history, Francis Ford Coppola’s The Godfather and the Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky series,” said Del Weston, AOF Festival Creator, “Her talent and longevity in the industry are undeniable.”
The six day event which will run from July 23-29, 2010 has been headlined by such stars as Bill Duke, John Savage, David Carradine, Michael Madsen, Costas Mandylor and many other notable celebrities and actors.
The actress will not only premiere her new film, Pizza With Bullets which was directed by Robert Rothbard and stars Vincent Pastore -of The Soprano’s fame- Tony Devon, Ronnie Marmo and Caroline D’Amore; but she will also receive her AOF Lifetime Achievement Award at the star studded black tie AOF Dinner and Award Show which will be held on Thursday July 29, 2010. A special pre award show party will be sponsored by Japon Bistro of Pasadena earlier in the evening.
When interviewed by the AOF Team, Shire said, “I love Pasadena and I am thrilled to be honored by the Action On Film Festival.” Portions of the interview will begin to air on the AOF website on April 25, 2010.
Shire has a long list of credits which include The Godfather, Rocky, Minkow, I Heart Huckabees, Rich Man Poor Man, and a large number of credits as a producer as well.
The AOF Festival which is now in its sixth season is sponsored by The Sheraton Pasadena, Video Symphony, EVS, Japon Bistro and the Academy Theaters. The event will feature 15 star studded parties and screenings and over 400 films. Special appearances will be made by action legend James Lew and actor Kim Coates of Black Hawk Down, The Island, Sons of Anarchy and most recently the new Resident Evil film.
