IRVINE, Calif. – February 24, 2014 – The U.S. economy is recovering and spa management is becoming more creative with its services and treatments, causing an influx of consumers visiting spas with demands that have expanded traditional spa services. As the U.S. spa model continues to evolve, professionals in the spa and hospitality management industry will benefit by understanding the attitudes and behaviors of today’s spa consumer. University of California, Irvine Extension recognizes the professional need to understand why people visit spas and what factors influence that decision. In response, a free online webinar titled, “A Look at Today’s Spa Consumer” will be held Thursday, April 10 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. PST.
The webinar will be hosted by Ella Stimpson, executive director of Spa Operations at Wynn and Encore Las Vegas. Stimpson is the former chairman of the International SPA Association and will provide insight on today’s typical spa consumer and best practices for spa professionals on how to best accommodate patrons.
“With the dynamic growth and increased need for customer satisfaction in the spa industry, spa professionals will greatly benefit from an opportunity to learn from an industry frontrunner,” said Angela Jeantet, director of UC Irvine Extension’s spa management, business and education programs. “Ella’s valuable expertise in the spa industry will afford interested participants industry insight and proven methodology on how to accommodate modern-day spa consumers.”
