The workshop is held at the fabulous Reebok Sports Club London where you will be treated to a great day of learning how to be the best Fitness Instructor you can be in the best gym in Europe.

REPS 2 Fitness Instructor course leading to the Active IQ Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing Gym.

A vocationally related qualification (VRQ), at level 2 on the National Qualifications Framework. It also provides access onto the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) at level 2.

This easily accessible course is the what you'll need to start your Fitness Trainer career. On completion of the course you'll be a qualified gym instructor at REPS Level 2 (Register of Exercise Professionals). From there you can progress onto REPS 3 and become a Personal Trainer, offering more career options and higher salary.

Who is this course suitable for?

Adults (aged 16+) wishing to pursue a career in the health and fitness sector as a gym-based fitness instructor. Individuals who have energy and enthusiasm, and would like a change in career, possibly leading towards becoming a Personal Trainer.

What are the entry requirements?

Some experience of gym-based exercises, including free weights. The course requires physical exertion and individual participation is essential, therefore a degree of physical fitness is necessary. There is an element of communication (discussing, presenting, reading and writing) involved, and candidates should have basic skills in communication pitched at Levels 2. There is also an element of learning online involving the use of a PC and the Internet; therefore you should have a good understanding of Information, and Communication Technology.

Unit 1 - Exercise and Fitness Knowledge Level 2 - This theory will underpin all your practical training and your future development as Instructors and Trainers. You will cover:

* Muscles and Muscle Actions
* Cardio-Respiratory System
* Energy Systems
* Special Populations and Pregnancy and Exercise
* Energy systems and Nutritional Basics

Unit 2 - Health, Safety and Professionalism in Exercise and Fitness Instruction

Unit 3 - Instructing Gym Based Exercise - The really fun part! Learn how to put together and teach a safe and effective program, that combines flexibility, muscular strength and endurance and CV components.
