UNCDF’s redesigned and restructured website offers easy access to key content areas and tools

The UN Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) is launching its redesigned and restructured website, featuring a new design that will also be optimized for mobile devices, including tablets.

The new structure of the site provides easy access to the most popular content areas, including UNCDF’s news, videos, publications, as well as its country-specific pages, where users can follow 60 inclusive finance and local development technical assistance projects operating in 37 least developed countries, with detailed information about the programmes’ objectives and progress.

"We have listened to our users and upgraded our website to provide easier access and improved content," said UNCDF Executive Secretary Marc Bichler. "We hope our new website will help UNCDF stakeholders and clients to know UNCDF’s activities and products in Inclusive Finance and Local Development Finance even better."

Specific sections on the approach, results and teams of UNCDF’s programme areas have been maintained: Inclusive Finance and Local Development Finance; and a new section illustrating UNCDF’s work on different themes and cross cutting issues, including food security, social protection, women’s and youth empowerment, has been created.

www.uncdf.org is available in English and will be soon available in French. Users can also follow UNCDF on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube for the latest updates. UNCDF will be extending its global outreach to inclusive finance and local development practitioners with the inclusion of new social media sharing tools and a better integration of multimedia products showcasing its work around the globe.

The new website offers a wealth of information sources, including in-depth feature stories on projects and programmes, and regularly published evaluation reports and assessments. UNCDF references and publications are categorized according to different topics and are available for download free of charge to users.

UNCDF is also launching a new section on its partnerships. “Partnering up in a multi-stakeholder format comes pretty naturally to us because UNCDF is a highly technical and specialized UN agency,” said the UNCDF Executive Secretary. “For UNCDF, the multi-stakeholder approach is the best bet to address complex challenges; it is the way to organize effectiveness. Indeed, no one can go as far alone as we can go together. UNCDF works together with programme country governments, donor governments, UNDP and the UN system, international financial institutions, private foundations, the private sector and academic institutions and brings its comparative advantage to where it will have the greatest impact across all the development goals. Reflecting this approach on our new website is for us a way to give proper visibility to the development partners we work with.”

Over the next few months, UNCDF will also launch the mobile version of the same website.
