Unibor drills into regulation compliance with Microsoft Dynamics NAV from Azzure IT

Universal Drilling and Cutting Equipment installs Microsoft Dynamics NAV from Azzure IT for international business integration.


Sheffield, South Yorkshire, United Kingdom., March 14, 2013 - (PressReleasePoint) - To meet the strict compliance demands of its Japanese parent, Sheffield-based drilling and cutting machine manufacturer Universal Drilling & Cutting Equipment has become the latest high-profile firm to install Microsoft Dynamics NAV with implementation partner, Azzure IT. The system has delivered a host of benefits, including slicker processes and international site integration. 

 
When it was acquired by Japanese tooling giant Nitto Kohki, Universal had to update its ERP system in order to meet the strict financial reporting required by JaSox laws (the Japanese equivalent of Sarbanes Oxley) enforced by the Japanese stock exchange.
 
The new system is now managing all Universal’s activities from purchase order through works order and sale orders, to accounts. “The ability to trace information has been vastly improved. There are many tasks that used to take us a long time to check manually and Dynamics NAV now manages all those automatically,” says Finance Director Bracey.
 
The system has also provided Universal with greater integration of its satellite offices in France, Holland and the US, says Steve Bracey, “We wanted to bring all the sites together on one system so we could fully unify operations. Crucially, we needed a system with multi-lingual capabilities and Dynamics NAV offered that out of the box. Structures are now in place for greater cross-business integration because we can see their stock and plan production from here, enabling us to respond to customer demand much more effectively without holding surplus stock.”
 
Founded over 30 years ago, Universal Drilling & Cutting Equipment is a world leader in the manufacture of broaching hole cutters and electro-magnetic drilling machines, which it sells under its Unibor brand. It exports 90% of its production to Europe and the USA.
