On October 4-8, the four public universities of Rome - Sapienza, Tor Vergata, Roma Tre and Foro Italico - will host more than 200 foreign students from 37 universities in 30 European countries at the UNICA Student Conference entitled "Towards a Student-Centred University." UNICA is a network of 46 universities in European capitals that promotes excellence and university cooperation through meetings, workshops and international projects.

The event will open on October 4 at Sapienza with the welcome of the four Rectors of the universities of Roma and that of a student representative. Works will continue with a presentation by a representative from the European Commission who will address the "State of the Union" in the aftermath of the important speech by President Jean-Claude Juncker. Subsequently, there will be projections of videos prepared by student delegations and the award of one of them.

Over the following days, students will be divided into working groups at the universities of Tor Vergata, Roma Tre and Foro Italico, to discuss the following topics:

1 - Quality of Higher Education
2 - Student-Centred Learning
3 - New ways of teaching and learning
4 - Fostering access to Higher Education
5 - Student Mobility
6 - Recognition
7 - Employability of Students
8 - Greener Universities: The role of students
9 - Integration of Refugees: What Can Universities Do?
10 - The Future of Europe

On Saturday, October 7, representatives of each student forum will present the results achieved in the form of action plans and the President of the Unica Network will present awards to the two best action plans.
